Foodbox: Nourishing Minds during Finals Week

During finals week on the 28th to the 31st of May 2024, the Foodbox, the library’s heartwarming initiative, made a comeback. This aims to support students by providing refreshments like coffee, bread, biscuits, candies, and even hot meals. The Foodbox hopes to cheer up  students and offer much needed moral support during their most stressful academic period.

Every afternoon, a designated area in the library transforms into a vibrant food station during the said time period. Students enjoyed free coffee and to add a sweet touch, an assortment of breads, biscuits, candies, and chocolates, were readily available as well. Hot meals were also served to ensure students remained nourished and had enough energy to accomplish their tasks.

The Foodbox is more than just a food drive. It also embodies community spirit. Library staff and volunteers, which include the College Student Council and various student organizations, actively participated in the drive thus, creating a supportive environment. This initiative quickly became a beloved tradition, reminding students that indeed the library cares about their well-being.

The success of Foodbox continues to have an impact, inspiring plans to be a regular and sustainable initiative from the library. Ultimately, the Foodbox is a testament that a little nourishment and encouragement could go a long way in helping our students succeed.
